Rexroth, Kenneth
(22 dic. 1905, South Bend, Ind., EE.UU.–6 jun. 1982, Santa Barbara, Cal.).

Pintor, ensayista, poeta y traductor estadounidense. Rexroth, autodidacta de formación pasó gran parte de su juventud viajando por el oeste de los EE.UU., y trabajando para varios sindicatos en calidad de organizador y orador. La poesía de su primer período fue experimental y delata la influencia del surrealismo; su obra posterior ha sido elogiada por su cohesión formal, su ingenio y su pasión humanística. Fue uno de los miembros del movimiento Beat. En sus obras se destacan los libros de ensayos Assays [Embates] (1962) y With Eye and Ear [Con el ojo y la oreja] (1970), así como numerosas traducciones del japonés, el chino, el griego, el latín y la poesía española.
